>Lithium Carbonate
Lithium carbonate, the most widely used of the compounds, is employed in the production of lithium metal and ft-its and enamels. Together with lithium fluoride (LiF), it serves as an additive for cryolite in the elec-trolytic pot line production of primary aluminum. It also is used to treat manic states and bipolar disorder, and is used in the manufacture of most LITHIUM-ion battery cathodes, which are made of lithlum cobalt oxide.
